I am a very lucky man. Born in a far away continent, my parents sent me to study at an American University, so I could get a world-class education that was scantly available at home.
With several degrees and many successful businesses to my credit, I find myself wealthy and healthy beyond expectation. I live in a beautiful home and have access to all the amenities I could ever desire.
I’m the Founder & CEO of Waterstone Management, a boutique consulting company helping entrepreneurs and companies nationwide reach their peak performance. I’m also the Founder of The The Entrepreneur Success Institute.
Moreover, my success in business has afforded me incredible access to some of the leading thinkers in American business. People worth many millions (and in some cases, billions) of dollars who have been willing to sit down and be interviewed by me.
They’ve willingly shared their personal stories and their struggles. They’ve shared their triumphs and the secrets of their successes.
But my life wasn’t always this good.
In fact, upon arriving in America I experienced some of my darkest days.
I was a scared, lonely 18 year old boy whose “Queen’s English” was definitely not the language spoken in America. I had trouble communicating with my classmates, almost constant problems with transportation, ever-increasing stress from school and a near-crippling sense of homesickness.
Near the end of my first year at University my parents wrote to tell me that they could no longer afford to pay for my University tuition. If I wanted to stay in school, I would have to find a way to pay my own expenses.
Unwilling to return home and with no job prospects in Illinois, I picked up everything I owned and moved to California, near San Francisco, where there were greater prospects for finding work that would pay for my American education.
I was in school full-time and, to pay for my schooling, I worked at any job that would take me; from driving a bus to any menial job available.
Even then, I missed rent payments in order to meet my tuition requirements and was evicted multiple times. At one point, I was even living in my car, showering at a friend’s house before going into work so I wouldn’t get fired.
For two years I struggled and scraped, surviving by whatever means necessary and managing, barely, to stay in school.
It was during my junior year that fortune smiled on me and I met Amos, a businessman who had found his niche in the business world.
He must have seen the desperation in my eyes because he started sharing his own struggles. But those struggles were very much in the past.
Amos was now a man of insurance and real estate, well on his way to making his first million. The plan for his future had been cemented in his mind long ago and he knew his path to wealth.
One day, Amos shared that plan with me and in a moment, I knew I had found the answer to my problems.
I left school and began to apprentice in financial sales.
With Amos as my mentor, I enjoyed success very quickly. Within my first year I went from scrubbing toilets to generating more than a million dollars in sales and a whopping quarter of a million in personal income!
With this new found money, I re-enrolled in University, earned my undergraduate degree and began working towards an advanced degree.
When I’d earned my advanced degrees I found that doors opened much more easily in the world of financial sales. Bigger corporations were willing to listen to my offer and I began landing bigger and bigger deals, earning bigger and bigger paychecks.
I soon began using my new found wealth and sales skills gained working with corporations and business leaders, to invest in real estate properties and acquiring other appreciating assets.
By my 33rd birthday, I was a verified millionaire!
Since then, I’ve made it my personal mission to discover the common traits behind the most successful New American Millionaires and to share those unique skills with anyone who wants to live a richer, more successful life.
But enough about me, let’s talk about you.
